An enchanted Castle to discover

Ghepensimì, who obviously knows Milan really well, suggests that we move towards the centre to the Castello Sforzesco, which you acclaimed as "not to be missed."
Inside the castle, the Museum of Ancient Art houses Michelangelo's last masterpiece the Pietà Rondanini, but also not to be missed is the art in the Pinacoteca, the Raccolta di Mobili with furnishings from the XV to the XIX century, the Rocchetta to admire the Museum of Decorative Arts with its vast collection of ceramics, the Oreficerie gold collections, the musical instrument collection which is one the largest in Europe, the Trivulzio tapestries, the Armoury, the Museum of Prehistory and Early History, the Egyptian Museum and the Sale Viscontee, a prestigious setting for shows and temporary exhibitions. Inside the Biblioteca Trivulziana within the Castle is Leonardo's Codex Trivulzianus which also contains studies for the Tiburio of Milan's Duomo.

A day trip

Ghepensimì takes us to the disco but we won't be out too late because tomorrow we're going on a day trip. And we don't have to get up too early since we're going to Como, a beautiful lakeside location not far from Milan, the destination that website voters chose as the best trip to do around Milan.
Once again we ask our friend for advice. Ghepensimì suggests going first to the city, which offers delightful views, and then taking a boat across the lake to discover the beautiful villas:Villa Balbianello in Lenno, Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo, Villa Monastero in Varenna, Villa d'Este and Villa Erba in Cernobbio.

Time passes quickly during the journey, in front of our eyes we have the charming landscape of Lombardy; in our ears we hear the song Lights at San Siro" by Roberto Vecchioni. These notes depict the breathtaking beauty of a Milan that belongs intimately to the author, a melancholy beauty stronger than a lost love. But this, of course, is another story.

The next appointment

Unfortunately, it's time to say goodbye to our friend Ghepensimì. However, not before fixing our next appointment: in April at Fuorisalone. Chosen by you as the "absolutely not to be missed" event which, over the last few years, has become a cult venue, running alongside the Salone Internazionale del Mobile. For a whole week Milan is transformed into a large installation open to the public with a blaze of events scattered in thousands of locations all over the city, including music, exhibitions, cocktails, djs, artists and designers from around the world >>

Or we could meet next year in February for BIT, the International Tourism Exchange, and especially for the fun Fuori Bit collateral event which brings the world to Milan, so we can travel the globe without leaving the city, as it happens at the unforgettable Cascina Cuccagna >>
