THE ATLANTIC CODE: AIR, WATER, EARTH, FIRE


The largest collection in the world of drawings and writings by this great, Florentine genius. A unique testimony to the multiplicity of Leonardo’s interests, from architecture to engineering, anatomy and astronomy.
All 1,119 pages of the Atlantic Code will be exhibited for the first time ever in a series of 24 themed exhibitions, one every three months until 2015.


The exhibitions will be held in two places:

 

The Pinacoteca Ambrosiana
Piazza Pio XI, 2 - 20123 Milan
Opening hours: 10:00am to 6:00pm / ticket office shuts at 5:30pm
Mondays: closed all day
Holiday closures: 1st January, Easter day, 1st May and 25th December.

 

The Bramante Sacristy
at the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie
Via Caradosso, 1 - 20123 Milan
Opening hours:  8:30am to 7:00pm / ticket office closes at 6:30pm
Mondays: 9:30am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 6:00pm

Holiday closures: 1st January, Easter day, 1st May and 25th December.

 

 

THE LAST SUPPER


The fresco of The Last Supper is in the refectory of the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie and is one of the most famous masterpieces in the whole world, commissioned by Ludovico Sforza, known as il Moro, in 1496 A.D.
